Who we are

Mission

To promote volleyball and the well-being of the 2SLGBTQ+ community of the National Capital Region by offering fun, inclusive, and positive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ people and allies of all skill levels to play volleyball and collaborating with other like-minded organizations, groups and individuals with similar goals and values.

Vision

That all members and friends of the 2SLGBTQ+ community feel that they have the opportunity to participate, develop, and excel in the sport of volleyball at the level of their choice, in a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.

Values

PCV’s programming is carried in a way that encourages the following core values:

• Health

  • We provide opportunities for members and allies of the 2SLGBTQ+ community to actively engage in the sport of volleyball promoting greater physical and mental health.

• Participation

  • We promote a safe and supportive environment for our community to participate in competitive and recreational volleyball and encourage all members of our community to participate in the Organization’s programs, tournaments, and events.

• Community

  • We cultivate a welcoming environment that fosters a sense of belonging and engage with individuals and community groups on important issues related to 2SLGBTQ+ sport.

• Integrity

  • We embody honesty and ethical behavior in everything we do, guided by our by-laws, policies, procedures, structures, and principles, to ensure the organization’s long-term viability and sustainability.

  • We celebrate our diversity and promote inclusion by treating everyone with respect and understanding; regardless of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, income, or ability.
