PCV Annual Tournament 2025
Tournament Details
2025 tournament registration will be accepted on a first come first served basis. After registering, teams will be asked to complete a short survey to help us determine each team’s level of play. Teams will be organized into divisions based on number of teams registered and skill level criteria.
(Elite) Your players consistently demonstrate advanced skills and expect the highest level of play. Most of your team members consistently demonstrate precise ball control and purposeful execution when serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defending. Additionally, your team effectively utilizes an offensive system (e.g. 5-1) with varied attack options that can be adjusted based on your opponent’s game play.
(Competitive) Your players demonstrate a moderately high skill level and expect a moderately high level of play. Most of your team members display fairly consistent ball control and purposeful execution when serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defending. Your team has adopted specialized positioning and makes an effort to implement offensive systems (5-1 or 6-2 formation) with varied attack options.
(Intermediate) The majority of your team members are developing consistency in executing basic volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defense), with some adoption of specialized positioning (setter, middle, power). Your team consistently attempts to execute three contacts and is usually able to have good rallies, but attack hits are generally not overly aggressive.
(Recreational) The majority of your team members are beginners looking to build on their base skills. The team may play a rotational system (setter position 2 or 3) and promote 3 touches. Your team is primarily looking to enjoy being a part of the tournament without the pressure of being overly competitive. Your team might benefit from some mentoring and guidance from the officials assigned to your division.
The tournament will include a round-robin phase in morning/afternoon waves on Saturday (8 sets) to determine placements, followed by a double elimination playoff round (best-of-3 with single-set redemption bracket) on Sunday within smaller divisions.
Tournament venues:
Montpetit Hall, University of Ottawa, 125 University Private, Ottawa
École Franco Cité, 623 Smyth Road, Ottawa
Centre Sportif Gatineau, 850 Boulevard de la Gappe, Gatineau
The cost is $950 per team. The team’s fee will be paid by the Captain at registration.
Teams may play at any of these venues and must be prepared to change venues between Saturday and Sunday of the tournament if required.
The fee includes registration for one team for the two-day tournament (unlimited number of players) as well as 7 tickets for 7 for our Saturday night gala! All players must be rostered. Gala tickets are always included in your registration and cannot be removed. You are not permitted to borrow players from other teams during the tournament.
Additional gala ticket may be purchased online.
The tournament is sold out. Any spaces that become available will be managed through the waitlist. You can sign up for our waitlist below.
