June 20th - Beach Basics
Are you newer to beach or volleyball in general? Or have you been around a while and want to go back to basics to refine your technique? Do you want some tips on how to move in the sand, adjust to the wind or practice making ball contacts with whatever the weather has to throw at you? Join us for this basic skills session where we will focus on technique, provide reps and coaching on ball skills including serving, passing, digging, setting, attacking and blocking in the sand.
July 18th – Reception/Side out
For this session, we will focus on serve receive to attack. This will include working on passing/setting and attack strategies. Game situation drills will provide opportunities to practice the transition from reception to attack and allow for live feedback. For this session, participants are expected to have basic ball control (being able to forearm or hand pass a ball to a target) to allow for meaningful rallies.
July 25th – Serve/Defense
This session will include work on techniques for service, blocking and defense. We will work on reading the first two contacts of an opponent to better set up a defense to counterattack. For this session, participants are expected to have basic ball control (being able to forearm or hand pass a ball to a target) to allow for meaningful rallies.
August 22nd - Strategy/Gameplay
This is an all-encompassing session that looks at strategies for getting your opponents to do what you want them to do. We will work on creating a serve/defensive strategy that funnels the defense to work with your strengths. On serve receive, we will work on creating the best situation for a successful side out. For this session, participants are expected to have basic ball control (being able to forearm or hand pass a ball to a target) to allow for meaningful rallies.
