2026 Annual Tournament
March 14 & 15
Pride Capital Volleyball’s annual tournament is a marquee event that celebrates the 2SLGBTQ+ community and allies through a spirited blend of athletic competition and social connection. Emphasizing a fun, inclusive, and positive atmosphere, the tournament caters to a wide range of skill levels. The event typically features a round-robin format that transitions into playoff matches, fostering a dynamic environment where sportspersonship and community building are paramount. Beyond the court, the experience is anchored by a celebratory soirée, which reinforces the organization's commitment to participation, diversity, and fostering safe, welcoming spaces for all attendees.
Tournament venues:
Montpetit Hall, University of Ottawa, 125 University Private, Ottawa
Orléans Dome, 6588 Carrière St, Ottawa

Tournament Details
2026 tournament registration will be accepted on a first come first served basis. After registering, teams will be asked to complete a short survey to help us determine each team’s level of play. Teams will be organized into pools based on number of teams registered and skill level criteria. Of note, there will not be an elite division this year, as there has been previously. PCV strives to provide fun, inclusive, and positive opportunities for 2SLGBTQ+ peoples and allies to play volleyball. While we recognize the competition can be fierce at times, we want to emphasize our core values as paramount. Competitive teams are welcome to register, but will need to be aware there will not be an exclusive elite division this year.
(Competitive) Your players demonstrate a moderately high skill level and expect a moderately high level of play. Most of your team members display fairly consistent ball control and purposeful execution when serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defending. Your team has adopted specialized positioning and makes an effort to implement offensive systems (5-1 or 6-2 formation) with varied attack options.
(Intermediate) The majority of your team members are developing consistency in executing basic volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defense), with some adoption of specialized positioning (setter, middle, power). Your team consistently attempts to execute three contacts and is usually able to have good rallies, but attack hits are generally not overly aggressive.
(Recreational) The majority of your team members are beginners looking to build on their base skills. The team may play a rotational system (setter position 2 or 3) and promote 3 touches. Your team is primarily looking to enjoy being a part of the tournament without the pressure of being overly competitive. Your team might benefit from some mentoring and guidance from the officials assigned to your division.
The tournament will include a round-robin on Saturday to determine placements, followed by a double elimination playoff round (best-of-3 with single-set redemption bracket) on Sunday.
Note: Please note that while we strive to accommodate all teams’ requests, we reserve the right to place teams where we think they will fit best, based on the registration turnout.
